Index Nominum is the international drug reference book on active substances, their synonyms, chemical structures and formulas, the brand names, and their manufacturers. The 18th edition has been completely revised and updated. It includes the monographs of 4,500 active substances and their derivatives.
The clear new layout and visual aids give the user all the essentials at a single glance: International Non-Proprietary Names (INN), chemical names, official synonyms, the German, French, Spanish and Latin names for active substances as well as the names of the trade preparations for almost all the countries of the world.
In addition, the indications, the ATC-Code of the WHO, the CAS number, the summary formula and the molecular mass and the structural formula are included.
The ATCvet-Code for veterinary medicine substances was recently introduced. The compilation of single-compound preparations for human use is complete for 102 countries (previously 31); another 39 countries are partly covered. A total of 141 countries (133 in the previous edition) have now been evaluated. The alphabetical index of all the trade names (51,000), the medicinal substances (4,500) and the synonyms (12,000) as well as the registers of ATC and ATCvet active substances offer valuable searching helps. Including a CD-ROM with over 17,000 addresses and links to pharmaceutical manufacturers worldwide. The addresses are given in the form of an Excel file, which can be read with the Microsoft Excel Viewer (provided on the CD-ROM) Index Nominum - the most successful tool for information on national and international drugs for over 40 years.
