Full Description
Human dignity is based on the determination of human beings to be imago Dei, the image of God. The 15th Yearbook of Biblical Theology reveals this thesis, which is represented on a biblical basis, and examines other biblical contributions to the in-depth justification and increased clarification of the talk of human dignity. It shows how human rights and human dignity were understood and maintained in early Christian times, in the Reformation and in the Enlightenment. Finally, it offers systematic and practical theological, legal, socio-theoretical and diaconal perspectives on the subject of human dignity in the present.
