Dieses umfangreiche Nachschlagewerk enthalt neben den entsprechenden Ubersetzungen ausfuhrliche Erlauterungen und Definitionen in den Sprachen Deutsch (Leitsprache), britischem Englisch, amerikanischem Englisch, Franzosisch und Spanisch (Spanien und Lateinamerika). Schwerpunktmabig werden dabei u.a. folgende Fachgebiete abgedeckt: Garten-und Landschaftsbau, Ingenieurbiologie, Vergabewesen und Honorarwesen fur Architekten und Ingenieure, Landschaftspflege, Naturschutz, Bodenkunde, Geomorphologie, Okologie, Stadtebau, Erholungsplanung, jeweils mit den entsprechenden Verweisen auf die nationale Gesetzgebung. Fur die uber etwa 10,000 Termini ist die Leitsprache Deutsch, entsprechende Indices werden in Englisch, Franzosisch und Spanisch aufgelistet.This unique 'quinqualingual' dictionary covers terms which concern the planning, design and protection of the environment. The languages are German, British and American English, French, and Spanish, together with many Latin-American equivalents.It is intended for the use of landscape architects, urban planners, nature conservationists and environmentalists, as well as planning practices, research and educational institutes and contains a total of approximately 10,000 termini. The terms have not simply been translated. As often as possible various interpretations at the planning, legal or technical level were also included in the definitions, with cross references to generic and specific terms, thus adding to the precise meaning and allowing clarification of the scope of each term. In the case of those terms which are not used, or as yet unknown, in one or another of the languages, helpful suggestions have been made for their translation. Definitions in each of the five languages are a valuable aid in understanding and provide alternative wordings for everyday use.
