Full Description
This extensive collection of the work of Don Binney focuses on the high-quality reproduction of his paintings. Binney has been working with images of birds and landscapes since the late 1950's, and here the paintings are illuminated through a sympathetic commentary. An introduction to his work locates it in a wider art-history context, and a detailed chronology in-depth interview with the artist accompany his work. Binne acknowledges three major stages in his career to date: initial success in the art firmament, his fall out of fashion in the art world and move to other subjects such as collage, and a return to looking at birds and his own paintings of them in a more detached way.
