The opening sequence is a moving picture of the birth of a baby from the father's perspective; this is followed by a sometimes shocking documentary-type poem recording conversations heard by a taxidriver, vivid, coarse, energetic. Other poems include a wonderful glimpse of a rugby match, a snapshot from Beatrix Potter, a funny but agonising poem on a mother-in-law suffering from Alzheimer's and a poem for the late broadcaster Ross Stevens.
