The time is right for transforming schools so as to bring children and young people on board as partners in the education process. Contemporary international and domestic legislation and curriculum frameworks support their having a real voice, making choices and decisions and being recognized and respected as the stakeholders they undoubtedly are in their own learning and schools. This volume shows why participatory and inclusive approaches are beneficial not only for the children, but for their teachers and the ethos of their schools.
