The author presents a survey of over 30 Swedish designers, from glass and textile designers to ceramic artists and furniture makers, which provides an insight into Scandanavian design philosophies. The work of 14 Swedish photographers illustrates the text, capturing the artists, their work and a number of key producers and contributors. An illustrated history surveys Swedish design from 1845 to the early 21st century, while a glossary and directory provide further information on this growing industry. This text should be of interest to those studying design, and the Swedish design scene in particular.
