"Being in Charge" explores the experience of being a new leader in an infant-family program. It describes how to use self-awareness, observation, and flexible responses to manage stress and increase on-the-job effectiveness. Leadership issues are discussed, including: individualizing one's relationships with staff members, encouraging collegial work, and learning from conflict.
