The Land Registration Act 2002 introduces some of the most radical changes to property law since 1925 and aims to make the buying and selling of land simpler, quicker and cheaper. The Act replaces all existing legislation on land registration, introduces a new regime for adverse possession, and later will effect the move from paper-based to electronic conveyancing. Registered Land: The New Law provides a comprehensive, authoritative and practical guide to the new Act and its implications for property practitioners. Registered Land: The New Law sets out clearly: • The new procedures for first registration • The provisions for dealing with registered land including the new requirement to register all leases over 7 years • What electronic conveyancing is and what it means for the practitioner • The new regime for adverse possession • The adjudication and dispute resolution procedures.
