"Framework Non-Fiction" has been devised specifically to fulfil the non-fiction study requirements of the draft National Literacy Strategy for Key Stage 3. The book provides essential coverage of this crucial area. Contents are organised by text-type, and include instructions, advice, letters, information texts, biographies, reports, summaries, personal recounts, persuasive and opinion-based writing, bias, discursive writing, explanations, and transcripts of speech. Each unit encourages students to explore the key language features of the featured text-type before demonstrating their knowledge through their own writing. The accompanying Teacher's Book includes answers to questions in the Students' Book, and extra support to develop students' non-fiction writing skills.
