This work details day-to-day 3G (third generation) network operation. It explains compatibility problems that service providers experience in making the transition from second generation systems (CDMA 2000, etc) to 2.5 generation systems (WAP, EDGE) and European (WCDMA) versions of the standard. It provides description of network standards (3G equivalents of IS-41 and A-Interface) and covers services supported by CDMA 2000.
