The proceedings Solutions to Coastal Disasters 2005 contains 80 papers that focus on the science and research tools, management procedures, and solutions that are explored and used during coastal disasters. Coastal disaster events occurring through November 2004 are discussed. One major focus is the coastal hazards on the United State's coastlines of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. Other coastlines that are discussed include Lake Ontario (Canada), the North Sea (Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom), the Pacific Ocean (California, Hawaii, Korea, Japan, and New Zealand), and the Indian Ocean (Bangladesh, India).
