Full Description

This is a glimpse of life in a community as it was being founded. James Morris was responsible for making this social experiment, the Sable Island Humane Station, a success. He was also a member of the Planters of Nova Scotia, the first wave of colonists from New England who settled in Nova Scotia in the 18th century. By studying the rhetoric of Morris and others like him the reader can gain insight into the cultural ethos which the US and Canada share today.
