Population characteristics include comparisons of the contemporary with historical data on populations extending back to 1810. The health and vital statistics section includes detailed information on a wide range of topics, including Michigan abortion rates, tobacco use, and occupational injury.The Abstract is a valuable reference tool for scholars, businesses, entrepreneurs, and job seekers. It is an excellent resource for state, county, and local statistical information. There is no other work that combines so much useful information on the state, its population, its businesses, and its economic condition.
